11/1/2022 0 Comments Nikon full frameon another with 45 mpx (Nikon's maximum to date, 10% lower in pxl density). That is equal distance, pixels and croppings: with the advantages of 600 mm over 500 mm. My humble experience will be limited to talking exclusively about sharpness and resolution capacity in the maximum focal length of each of the lenses and systems, a fundamental fact for bird photography. I mention this because I believe that, in my experience, the quality variations between different units of the Sony 200-600 can be significant. I have been a user of a Nikon D850 and the Nikon 500 PF and, for several months, I have been able to simultaneously use and test both systems in controlled spaces (tripod, shutter release, different distances, etc.) and long-distance photos.įirst of all I would like to specify previously that up to 3 units of the Nikon 200-600 have passed through my hands: the first with a clear lack of sharpness in the center and corners and the second with a correct sharpness in the center but a slight decentralization of lenses that caused a slight greater sharpness on one side than on the other. I have a 500PF, and a few other Nikon lenses, but birding is what I most care about. I'm thinking of changing systems because of a lack of bodies.
